spine and joints painWe see a lot of patients , who sadly anounce to us: "But I've got Arthritis - nothing you can do". I would like to explain what it means and what can be done to get you feeling better.

Arthritis, according to the Oxford English Dictionary is an:

Inflammation of a joint, usually accompanied by pain, swelling, and stiffness, and resulting from infection, trauma, degenerative changes, metabolic disturbances, or other causes. It occurs in various forms, such as bacterial arthritis, osteoarthritis, or rheumatoid arthritis.

Therefore, there are hundreds of different "arthritis" out there. In most of the cases, when your doctor tells you that you've got Arthritis, they mean a "wear and tear" arthritis or a degenerative arthritis. We see hundreds of patients with this problem and you can see what it looks like below:

These are X-rays of the neck when looking at you from the side. You can see how in the process of wear and tear it changes from strong and supple to weak and sore.

are no visible signs of degeneration.

Arthritic "wear and tear" affects other joints in a similar way and it can not be reversed but chiropractors believe in stopping it from getting any further, thus restoring the overall function and reducing pain. Arthritis can develop very slowly or sometimes - rapidly. It has to be properly investigated and diagnosed every time and as early as possible.
