Happy familyWhen you are pregnant, your centre of gravity changes, so does the stress to the spine.

This period of rapid development, hormonal changes, the laxity of the connective ligaments, and shifting of the weightbearing structures, may cause most pregnant women to experience back pain.

We found, that chiropractic care can be helpful to relieve the discomfort many pregnant women experience. Chiropractic helps to normalise nervous system function, which is an important component of overall good health. I'm talking about your good health which is equal to your future babies health.

The benefits of chiropractic care may also be noticed during delivery. Many chiropractic patients report that their deliveries were faster and more comfortable than their deliveries before they received chiropractic care.

We take special care, treating our pregnant patients and have special pillows to accomodate them comfortably on our benches. Some of the patiens say jokingly, that they would come to the clinic just to use this pillow, this is how comfortable it is!

Women who exercise moderately, quit smoking, eat healthy foods, and avoid alcohol during pregnancy are to be congratulated.

Those receiving parental chiropractic checkups can increase their nervous system capacity to function at it's very best. This is important element in creating a healthy foundation for developing babies and staying happy and strong.

Surely, if you have low back or neck pain during pregnancy, this affects your baby too. First of all, when you feel pain, it is very likely your baby feels pain too, because you share the bloodstream with your baby, and the chemicals in your blood which make you feel pain will affect them in a similar way. When your back is weak and sore, your delivery might last much longer and can be more complicated, so my advice to you - restore the movement of your back and get some easy exercises to tone your back up, so you suffer only a couple of hours not the 30-40 hours that some experience. Please go to your chiropractor for a gentle spinal adjustment and some guidance on stretching and exercise to prepare you for this amazing moment - when your baby is born!

You are welcome to visit us at Chimes Chiropractic, print the "Health Check Pass" here. This pass will entitle you to a Consultation, Examination, and a full explanation of our findings and diagnosis, including recommendations for treatment and exercise.
