food combiningThe art of food combining is a revolutionary approach to healthy eating and it is well known since 1911 as the Dr.Hay diet.

Dr. Hay was a medical doctor specialising in surgery, but after developing a fatal kidney disease he developed a principle of food combining, which is based on the physiology of the human digestive system.

This new food combiining method not only cured his disease, but became the one and only food combining system which has very strong and famous followers and absolutely no opponents (see books in my amazon store).

The main principle of food combining is based on the fact, that some foods, need acid to get digested, some require alkaline and others are neutral. Your digestive system produces acid or alkaline juices and enzymes according to the foods you eat.

If you remember your chemistry lessons well, acid and alkaline react with each other, losing their chemical properties alltogether. Mixing foods which need acid with foods needing alkaline means, that these foods will be digested poorly because the digestive juices reacted with each other and became neutral losing its power to digest. The food will enter the gut undigested, it will ferment, rot and putrefy until it’s literallyforced into the small intestine (by your next meal). And what’s the result? You guessed it - gas, heartburn, cramps, bloating, diarrhea, flatulence, you-name-it. Neutral foods, which require a small amount of enzymes and no strong acid or alkaline environment are good to go with one or the other of first two groups, but never with both at the same time.

Basic food groups according to the digestion physiology:

Fresh (non-starchy) vegetables , since they are largely comprised of water, are a more “neutral” food and pass through the stomach quickly with little or no digestive enzymes necessary.

Starchy foods require an alkaline digestive enzyme, which starts in the mouth with the enzyme ptyalin and continues in the stomach and small intestine.

Protein foods are digested by acid; specifically, hydrochloric acid and pepsin secreted by the stomach

CONCENTRATED PROTEINS AND STARCHES CANNOT DIGEST EFFICIENTLY IN THE STOMACH AT THE SAME TIME.

Yet our typical diet consistently includes such combinations.

For example, how often do you eat:

Chicken and riceHamburger and friesSpaghetti and meatballsFish and riceSteak and a baked potatoPork chops and fried potatoesTurkey and stuffingRoast beef and mashed potatoesPot roast and noodlesCorned beef and boiled potatoesEggs and toastMeat sandwiches (beef, chicken, ham, turkey, fish)Ham and new potatoes.

The bad news is that EVERY ONE of those meals is mis-combined—a concentrated protein and starch combination. A recipe for digestive disaster and pain. The good news is that now that you know this, you can adjust your eating habits in order to boost your energy, speed your digestion, normalize your weight, and improve your health in every way.

These are the basics of food combining helping to achieve pain free digestion, weight loss, good metabolism and great general health. The results of correct food combining are outsatnding. The Food Truths I described in Eating for Health are basics and the foundation of a good diet, but adding a food combining component to it will take it to the next level of amazing health improvements.

Some of you may be saying, “I eat those things all the time and don’t have any stomach pain or bloating.” It’s entirely possible that you may be that “lucky.” However, you’re not really lucky because chances are you’re suffering in other ways and don’t even realize it.

All of these symptoms can be the result of inefficient digestion:

  • Headaches
  • Tiredness/chronic fatigue
  • Frequent colds
  • Runny nose
  • Skin break-outs
  • Back aches

The GOOD NEWS is:

You can enjoy truly delicious meals every single day that are properly combined! That’s the reason I wrote this article - to tell you that you can eat everything you like and as much as you like if you combine it in the right way. All the work is all done for you and all you need to do is reap the benefits (both on your taste buds and in your body).

I've put some books in my Amazon bookstore, these books are written by people, who found food combining has changed their life, they tried and researched it for you, so you can start making small changes right now.

If you have no time to buy and read the original sources of food combining wisdom, get Sherry Brescias book "Great Taste No Pain", where she describes The Food Combining and the basics of The Alkalising diet - two most important and easy ways to improve your diet without depriving yourself of your favourite foods. This book comes as whole system with introductory book "Pain-Free In 1 Day", main title on food combining and other health tips "How To End Stomach Pain Forever, Even If Your MD Says, 'No Way!'", acid and alcaline food chart book "Foods That Create Acid, Foods That Take It Away", food combining charts "What Combines With What", 181 page softcover recipe book "Great Taste No Pain!", and a credit card size cut-out "Pocket Guide To Pain-Free Dining Out" which I carry with me all the time.

As you know, I only recomend treatments, methods, systems and books, which I have tried myself.

All the research and selection is done for you, get it and use it, it works!

It seems difficult, but when you get into it, it's actually easy. I have my sandwiches with avocado, cuccumbers and tomatoes in them and when I have meat I have it with salad and crunchy veg like fresh peas, grilled courgettes, tomatoes etc. When I have potatos, i have it with lots of butter and same crunchy veg. That calms my ulcer down. didn't have hearburn for months now... Easy way.
