balanceAs Dr Vas says: "balance is the key to our health".

Alongside balance in our physical health we need to acknowledge the importance of balance in our mental health.

The way we look at the world is determined by many factors and it is invariably one or more of those factors that can disturb the balance in our mental health.

How this can then go on and influence our physical health is the subject of much research.

As a psychotherapist with over 20 years experience I work with clients to open new perspectives on old ways of looking at life, helping to restore balance in the mind.

Wellness assumes overall balance including balanced spine, balanced joints, balanced exercise, balanced diet and so on...

This is how wellness chiropractors see overall balance and its influence on your healthy living.

I start with mechanical balance and later discuss other factors necessary for a pain free life.

Mechanical balance is necessary for a pain free life and full function.

Every joint in your body is kept in good alignment by pairs of muscles and the quality of the movement depends on the balance in these pairs. Biceps and triceps around your elbow is a good example, the biceps flexes and the triceps extends your elbow.

But things are not that simple, there are more than two muscles around every joint and they all have their pair of opposing muscles to maintain balance. We can directly control these muscles, but when we use the hand for example we don't need to think which muscle to contract and how, your nervous system does that for you.
